For the purposes of this study, I aimed to create a brand that was able to interest both ends of the spectrum of our target audience by using a trending art style that can align more with a younger audience while making use of vintage characters from within the brand to create a nostalgic connection with the older members of the target audience.

Inspiration for this convention was pulled from events like Anime Expo, MegaCon and SDCC.
THE AUDIENCE
The target audience for an event like this is relatively straight forward. The split is 70/30 with the majority being a male audience between the ages of 18-55. The Female portion of the audience has an age range of 18-35. The unifying factors of this event lie around Japanese plamo models and strong relation to Japanese culture. This event also highly encourages cosplay elements as an additional draw for attendance. The event itself will offer specific merchandise only available at the time of the convention, allowing for the furthering of the private seller and collector market.
Looking back through the history of the Gundam franchise, it has always had a strong tie in with politics and military operations and their relation to the general public. As such, for the headers I chose to use a very clear Military inspired font representing the ties that the anime and franchise have. For the body text I use a much more understated font called Metropolis.

For the color, I wanted there to be a strong contrasting orange color to stand out against the standard black background while the green and deeper red are simply there as complimentary colors and get used very sparingly throughout the campaign.
STANDARD & VIP
While working on event passes, as with any convention you will have standard access passes for single and multiple days as well as VIP passes for single and multiple days. For MechaCon, we will take this one step further. Standard access and VIP passes both have an additional option (free of charge) involving the selection of a faction granting the guest free access to a faction specific shop located somewhere on the dealer room floor. The location is a secret to opposing factions and can only be discovered and accessed with a code on the pass and is unlocked by scanning into the mobile app.

For VIP passholders, this goes one step further and grants access to Squadron VIP merchandise.
